COPS got transfers !

Hi all ,after the dramatic scenes that enacted on Madras High Court premises that shocked the whole nation, Tamil Nadu police is now in the firing line from top to bottom. The Supreme Court has directed the Tamil Nadu government to transfer four senior police officers out of Chennai city for their role in this lawyers police clashes . But that is not all the court has even set up a committee under the retired Supreme Court judge B N Shrikrishna to look into the alleged police excesses.

“The advocate committee has also been asked to submit its interim report to the court in ten days time recommending that if any further action needed to be taken against policeman,” says P H Parekh yesterday. The court has also asked the Tamil Nadu government to deposit an amount of Rs 20 lakh with the Madras High Court which will be disbursed among the lawyers for the damages caused to their own vehicles and other property inside the court.
